One Step Forward, 18 Steps Back

Lesson learned: Never give your baby credit for sleeping 5 hours a night... it will come and bite you in the butt.

The beginning of last week I was all excited. For 4 nights in a row, Fynn slept for 5 hours straight. It. Was. Beautiful. And naive Mom over here was thinking how much she had grown and how I could really get used to this.

Cue harsh slap in the face.

Thursday night she was up every 2 hours.
The same Friday and Saturday night.

Last night? Every. Hour. And. A. Half. SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?!

She also usually gets up at 6 and then takes a nap around 7.... it's now 8:30am and she's bouncing all over the place. And squawking at me, just to let me know that she's enjoying this whole sleep situation.

Good thing she's cute, this morning it's all that she's got going for her.

10 minutes later...

  1. Amen sista! AMEN. I learned not to get too excited when Cruze would do well at night cuz right after saying the words "he's started sleeping through the night" BAM it was all over. Now thankfully, he's been sleeping through the night for some time but before? not so much. She IS cute though. It's crazy how they can use that against us lol.

  2. oh the good old days... now mine are poping up every hour because they need a drink- then 1/2 later got to pee--anything to get out of bed becasue as my daughter likes to say "SLEEP IS NOT IN MY EYES YET" =)

Yep being cute has saved my kids a ton ;)

  3. I so remember when my kids would all of the sudden wake up after sleeping through the night. It was far worse than when it's the same consistent schedule. Praying she starts to sleep longer soon!

  4. Sounds like my daughter! Just when I'd start to brag, or even just say OUT LOUD that she was sleeping better, she'd throw a wrench in things to prove me wrong. I just kept thinking that sometimes things get worse before they get better. Hang in there Mama!

  5. bwuahahaha... I always say God makes them so cute so we can tolerate them when they're teens, but maybe you're right and it's so we can get through those erratic sleeping habits when they're little. :)

    She sure is cute though...

  6. Argh--the crazy sleep antics are the number 1 reason that my hubby and I will probably not have any more kids! When my younger son was 4 months old I actually posted on facebook about what a great sleeper he was--and he spent the next 8 months proving me wrong! Good luck--

  9. My kids are 13 and 10 and I STILL hate to wake them up. They are so much nicer when they are asleep.
