It's Ok Thursday

Its Ok Thursdays
It's Okay:

  • To not give up on my Tuesday link up, even though it bombed the first week. This week I had people 2 link up, so I'm considering it a success as that's twice as many people as I had last week... maybe I should do a giveaway or something along with the link up to get more notice. Hmm... worth considering
  • To be excited that there are only 12 more days of school until our February vacation... YAYYYYYY!
  • to think my daughter is way cuter than other people's babies... sorry, but she is :)
  • To feel like a zombie this week. Sick baby= tired Mama
  • To be really annoyed by families who choose to go on vacations and pull their kids out of school for a week (or two). I get it, it's cheaper to go at non-vacation times, but do you ever stop to think about how much extra work it creates for your kids teachers? No, didn't think so. Also it's (almost) always the kids who really can't afford to miss a whole week that go on these types of trips.
  • To have 13 ear piercings, but just keep 3 earrings in and just keep switching which hole they go in throughout the week rather then looking for some more studs to put in. I change the ones in my first set of holes daily... but the rest get a day or two a week with an earring in.
  • To find my multiple uses of the word "hole" in the previous bullet a little dirty. Mind, gutter- clearly you two are already well acquainted.

  1. I'm sorry you didn't have many people on your linkup on Tuesday! I'll try to remember to link up this coming week!

  2. I am so trying to get used to the stricter absence policies in the states! We spent 4 years overseas and they are much more lax. I would take my daughter out for 3-4 weeks each year. When you are paying to fly 12 hrs to see family- you stay a lot longer. It is a lot different here:)

  3. I'm the same way with my earrings. Only I have 12 holes and 2 earrings in and I don't rotate. I took my earrings out to clean them and have yet to clean them.

I laughed at the "Hole" comment. It's nice to meet another "adult" who giggles at childish things like myself.

  4. I'm a teacher and I would totally agree with your statement of pulling kids out during school. It does make it a lot harder on teachers to get things ready and honestly no kid wants to do homework while on vacation. There were 4 kids on the plane last Saturday rushing to get homework done because they'd been skiing all week in Colorado and didn't do it until 1 day before.

  5. I'm going to be one of those moms you hate, I just know it. I'm all about saving some cash on vacations!!

  6. Hi There!!

  7. Keep going with your link up! You will get more people to join!
Found your blog through the link up.

  8. I always come to your blog a day or two too late after the link up and think, "Eff! I meant to do that! I'll do it next week." So don't give up on it! I want to do it!

Also, I HATED when parents took their kid out of school for vacations. HATED. And you're right- it IS always the kids who can't really afford to do it either.

Also, I think it's natural instinct to believe your baby is cuter than all other babies ever, because I totally believe that about mine as well. But you're baby is really freaking cute too. And let's be honest, some babies out there just... aren't.

And uh, I think that's all I've got for now.

  9. PS: This is actually Lauren from, but uh, apparently I have an old blogger account with my old blog name? So it posts my comments with that. Sorry!
