Sunday Social

1. What was your first car?

A green '95 Dodge Caravan.  It was 8 years old when I got it, and I drove it for another 3 years. It crapped out on me the end of my freshman year of college, so I got a new car. A year later my dad got it fixed up, and my little sister drove it for I think 3 more years. Clearly my parents got their money's worth on that hunk. Also, being a junior in high school driving a mini van with a carseat in the back (my little brother was 6 at the time), not cool. There were several jokes made when Drew and I showed up in the Banna-mobile.

2. Who was your favorite childhood teacher?

Not really childhood, but my high school freshman English teacher really inspired me. He was so passionate about what he did that it made me positive I wanted to be a teacher. It also doesn't hurt that Drew and I met in his classroom.

3. Were you involved in any sports/extracurricular activities? Share pictures if you can!

  •  I danced (ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, and hip hop- not all at the same time, but over the years)
  • Key Club
  • Softball (technically I didn't really "play" softball, I practiced a hell of a lot and kept the bench nice and toasty during games
  • Basketball- until 8th grade when my coach told me I probably shouldn't try out for the high school team

4. What was your favorite birthday party?
My 16th birthday. My three besties surprised me with an awesome birthday party. We all went out for dinner and then acted like idiots at one of their houses. It was awesome.

5. Who was your teen celebrity crush?

Zac Hanson. OMG, I was obsessed. I had pictured of him plastered all over my bedroom walls. Looking back, I don't even get it. I also had a major thing for Milo Ventimiglia after he was on Gilmore Girls for awhile.

6. What show/movie did your parents not allow you to watch?

A lot! I couldn't watch the Simpsons, just about anything on MTV, R-rated movies, or Saved by the Bell after my little sister told my mom she wanted to "dress sexy".

  1. Now I know who Zach Hanson is. I was going around reading other's posts and not knowing at all who the celebrity crush was. So glad I know this one. How funny about the van. But yeah I agree your parents got many years off that thing.

I too did tap and jazz, but not as a child. I did it in college.

  2. The part about your sister and Saved by the Bell made me giggle! I loved this show when I was younger.

  3. I'm laughing at what your sister told your mom too!! LOL!!

I swear I watched the first Real World when it came on tv. I've been watching ever since too!
