May Birchbox

I meant to cancel my Birchbox subscription after last month's let down... but then I forgot. Once I got my shipping notice I figured I might as well give it another try and see what this month had is store. I have to say, I was much happier with the products I got this month.

First look and subscription card

Tweezerman matchbook itty bitty files

I love this cute little box of tiny nail files. It's perfect to put in my desk at work. I also kept one out of the box and left it with Fynn's nail clippers because they are the perfect size files for her itty bitty nails. There were a TON of files in the box, so I feel like this is going to last me quite awhile.

Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle Spray

This is the PERFECT product sample for me, I straighten at least part of my hair almost every day (I shower at night, so I usually straighten out funky bumps and waves in the morning before work). I love how this is an easy leave in conditioner that doubles as a heat protector. It smells great and makes my hair nice and soft. It says it's a great detangler, but my hair doesn't get all that tangly, so I don't know for sure about that one.

Folle de Joie eau de parfume

No lie, when I first sprayed this, I thought they had put bug spray in by mistake. After I let it linger for a few minutes it smelled better, but I'm still not loving it.

COOLA Classic SPF 30 Cucumber Moisturizer

I love the scent of this. It's summery and beachy. It goes on smoothly and left my skin feeling soft. I really liked this and I love that it's a moisturizer and sunscreen in one as I often breakout from sunblock in the summer, but with my almost-albino skin I can't go out for more than 5 minutes in the summer without sunblock on.

Sumita Color Contrast Eye Liner

I haven't actually used this yet, since I don't wear eyeliner much, but i tried the pencil on my hand just to see how it went on. It draws on really smoothly and leaves a clean, dark line that looks perfect. Next time I get all dolled up I am totally using this!

Like I said, I liked this months items a LOT better than my last month's Birchbox, but it's not really worth it to me. Most of the items are cool, and fun to try... but not things I really need. You know? What about you? Are there subscription boxes out there that you love? What should I try?

  1. I got almost the exact same stuff in my box! Twins!! (I'm also feeling the same way you do about it - stuff is nice, but nothing I really need)

  2. I cancelled my Birchbox subscription too a little while ago. I agree, it was interesting to see some of the samples, but it's really not anything that I need in my every day life. I'm tempted to try Julep, but I don't paint my nails often enough to justify it, haha. :)
