C25K- Weeks 1 & 2

I mentioned two weeks ago that I was really going to start running again, and that I was using the Couch 2 5K program to help me stay motivated. I've got to say, this app has been amazing for me in terms of keeping me on track. I've now done the first two weeks of the program faithfully. Got to say, I'm pretty proud of myself for that. Granted, I still look like a fool lumbering down the street with my less then graceful gait and beet-red sweaty face.

BUT.

It's getting easier. That first day I felt silly stopping to walk all the time. I considered just running the entire time, figuring I could handle it. Luckily common sense won out and I realized that there was probably a reason why I was supposed to walk so much. So I followed the program as is. I'm glad I did, because I have a bad habit of pushing myself too hard and ending up quitting because it hurts. Clearly the creators of this app knew what they were doing because the pace has been good. I end each run feeling sore and out of breath, but not over the top.

I'm also getting faster. I'm running further with each run and running for longer stretches. Now I'm thinking about finding a 5k nearby so I can put my running to the test after I've finished the program. Drew has been running with some friends from work, so maybe I can convince him to run with me? Maybe?

Things I should feel bad about, but don't

I felt it was time for another round of things I probably should feel bad about, but don't. Here goes:

I didn't go all out for Fynn's first birthday- I thought about it. Pinned a bajillion ideas and dreamed about that perfect party... and then I remember who I am, and that I don't do crap like that. So today is Fynn's party. It's low-key. Focused on the birthday girl and having fun with friends and family.

I love trashy tv- Keeping up with the Kardashians, Don't be Tardy, Real Housewives, Teen Mom 2, etc... Shows that have no plot, fake people and a bunch of bs... and I can't get enough.

I also love tv shows clearly aimed at teens- Vampire Diaries, Switched at Birth, Bunheads, yup, I watch them all.

I kinda like being stinky- Those days when I haven't taken the time to shower or get dressed? Yeah, I like it.

I usually schedule a bunch of posts all at once- Long gone are the days where I could sit down and blog about what was on my mind on a whim. Now I use nap time and late nights to write out blog posts for the next couple of days. I hate that doing so make my blog less spontaneous and in the moment, but it's all I've got. This post? I wrote on Wednesday during nap time.

I hardcore censor myself here on the blog- I'm as honest and open as I can be, but we've all seen those news stories about teachers who were fired for their blogs... a girl's got to be careful. So while there are thing, thoughts and ideas that I would love to share... my love of a paycheck is a little bit stronger.

Sunkissed Influenster Voxbox

I finally got my Influenster Sunkissed Voxbox, about a week after everyone else.

I was so excited when I saw the box. It was bigger than the other boxes I've gotten from them, and when I opened it, it was chock full.

Dr. Scholl's For Her High Heel insoles-                            I don't really wear heels any more because they hurt my hip, so I probably won't really use these unless I put them into a pair of my flats.

Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream-
This was the item I was most excited about when I saw it in other people's boxes. I've been wanting to try BB Cream for awhile now, but didn't know enough about them, so this is perfect for me to try out. Bonus? It's a huge, full sized bottle of it. I'm even happier because they sent me the fair/light shade which is exactly what I need. Usually in boxes like this I end up with shades that are just too dark for me, so I'm glad I got one I can really use.

SinfulColors SinfulShine Nail Polish- I was really disappointed by this one. Not by the polish itself, I love polish, but the color. It's called Rebel and it looks. Well. It looks exactly how it looks in the picture. Not exactly a fan of this. I'll try it next week and see if it looks better on the nails then in the bottle, but right now I'm not impressed.

Goody Ouchless Ribbon Elastics- Love these. They're super cute either on my wrist, in my hair... or in Fynn's hair. I always either have my hair up or have an elastic on my wrist, so these were perfect for me. I knew they were good though when I put them in Fynn's teeny, tiny pony tail and it didn't bother her. Most of the elastics I've tried seem to bother her and she shakes her head and tries to pull it out. She left this one alone.

Thinking about trying Influenster? They're great because they allow you to try out new products for free and give you opinions on different products. If you'd like an invite, send me an e-mail!

Thursday Thoughts

I'm linking up today to share my random thoughts and ideas from the week:

  • O-Em-Gee- Entire days to myself? Amazing. Monday and Tuesday Fynn went to daycare so I could get stuff done around the house in preparation for her party this Saturday. Yeah, I spent the day cleaning and organizing .. BUT it was awesome. I was so productive! I got some extra sleep. I needed those two days by myself. Not just for getting stuff done, but also just to have some alone time.
  • I'm currently obsessed with watching Lost on Netflix. Love it. Of course, Drew had to inform me that apparently the later seasons sucked hardcore (he watched it when it was actually on) but whatevs, I'm loving it for now.
  • Yesterday was our 4 year wedding anniversary. I can't believe we've only been married for 4 years, it feels like forever. And yesterday? Yesterday sucked...so we're going to pretend it didn't happen and hopefully go out on a date next week... I say hopefully because it probably won't happen.
  • I'm in panic mode. I've been thinking about and planning Fynn's birthday party for weeks now, but Tuesday night it hit me. I have nothing done! We haven't bought anything, or really planned anything for real. I have all these "ideas"... but yeah, no time to do things. This is my problem. I wait until the last minute. UGH.
  • I caught Fynn eating dirt yesterday. A good mom would have known what she was doing, but I was just happy that she was happy and quiet... thus, the dirt. Oh well, I guess it's good for her immune system?

  • The kid also has a black eye right now. Just in time for her first birthday. Awesome. She fell on the kiddie pool edge at daycare Monday and got a lovely shiner. Is she too young for concealer?
  • If your pitch e-mail asking me to sponsor/do a review/promote your business doesn't use halfway decent English? Sorry, you're not going to hear back from me. I've been getting a lot of these lately.

June Citrus Lane Box

I actually forgot about Citrus Lane this month. I guess I wasn't paying attention to my e-mail? It came one night when I was putting Fynn to bed, so she didn't get to see things when I opened them (yes, I know, I could have been a good mom and waited until the next morning to open it. Key word: could)

Then, when I tried to take pictures of things, I discovered my phone is out of storage space. Bummer. So I took the pictures on the actual camera which is soooo much more work. It involves actually getting a cord and connecting it to the computer. Old school.

I love how nicely packaged it comes.

Looks good!

The info card. Not that it really needs it, because all the items are pretty self-explanatory, but I like that they include it anyways.

Sun Protection Hat from iPlay-$15                          I love this cute little hat. Perfect for a girl without being all frilly and over the top. Drew and I were just saying how we needed a new hat for her, especially one with ties so she can't pull it off as easily.

Water Toy by Haba~$5 (I couldn't find just this toy, but a set that include this toy is $27 for 6 toys)
This is a cute little watering can. I know Fynn will love it because she loves anything water and playing in water. This will be perfect in her little pink blow-up pool that my in-laws got her!

Episencial Sunny Sunscreen- $8.33
We can always use more sunscreen. It's not a huge bottle of it which is actually good because it's a good size to throw in the diaper or beach bag.

Happy Tot Plus: Blueberry, apple and purple carrot- $1.99
Fynn usually loves pouch foods, so I have a feeling this one will be a hit.

This months box had an overall value of $30.32. Still a deal since it only costs $25, but it's not one of those amazing value boxes. Still, everything in it is something we will actually use, so I continue to be happy with Citrus Lane. Want to try out Citrus Lane? If you click here and sign up using my link, we both save $10.

Planning for a party

Fynn's birthday party is this weekend. Eeek! There is sooo much to do before her party (and here I am blogging rather then working on party stuff. Typical Amanda.)

We have had a bunch of projects we've been working on to get ready for the party. The biggest one being the deck. Drew took apart the old deck and has been busy building a new one.

Other then that there are a lot of little things we wanted to get done to make the house look nice for the party. Cleaning, organizing, putting up some trim that should have been put up 4 years ago when we moved in.

I have some ideas for some party things and decorations that I need to get moving on, but I'm not letting it be a major stressful thing. We're sticking with simple and fun. I'm sure I'll have a ton of pictures to post after the party, especially of Fynn's first time eating cake!

A Beautiful Ruckus & A Giveaway

Today I have the lovely Rebecca from A Beautiful Ruckus guest posting about life with quadruplets... an idea that blows me away. While I'm feeling overwhelmed by one baby, this woman has rocked it out with four! She's also awesome enough to be hosting a giveaway for a Target giftcard, so make sure you enter below! Over on her blog, Rebecca's also hosting a giveaway for THREE items from Thirty-One, you should probably go enter, I did!

“Ellie, please get down. You are going to hurt yourself.” I looked at my daughter perched on the folding chair as one of her siblings was attempting to scramble up behind her.

“I’m stuck!” my little two-year-old responded.

“Elizabeth, you are not stuck. You need to get down right now before the chair folds on you.”

And with that, her brother reached up, snagged the back of her shirt and “helped” her down.
*****
I imagine that this type of conversation is probably very familiar to most moms. It seems one of the primary duties of a mom is to pull their kids out of scrapes before they harm themselves too much.

In my case, I do it all day, every day. I’m a stay-at-home mom….to quadruplets.

Yep, my situation is a little different than most. My husband and I found ourselves expecting quadruplets in 2010 and welcomed them early the following year. Out of necessity, I became a stay-at-home mom because daycare for four was way more than what I was making in my career.

However, that ended up being a dream come true! I love being a stay-at-home mom! Sometimes I miss having an excuse to “dress up” for work, or wish I still had a title to throw out when people ask me what I do, but by far and large, I’m happy and proud to say that I’m a mom.

Let’s face it though: It’s not an easy job. It involves constantly wiping poop, sweeping away tears from the faces of offended siblings, and trying to find yet another way to cook chicken without boring the taste buds too much. My four two-year-olds rarely look at me and thank me for remembering to put miralax in their morning milk, or for tucking them into bed for the zillionth time as I try to get them to nap. But I do get countless hugs, smiles, and snuggles!

Asking my daughter to get off of the folding chair before she folded herself into it was hardly the biggest issue I had to deal with that day…and yet, it made an impression on me. Maybe it was because she looked so cute and confident sitting the wrong way in the chair, maybe it was because her brother (only two minutes older than her!) wanted to help her obey, maybe it was because at one point we didn’t know if she would be able to walk….or maybe it was because I was blessed enough to get to have a conversation with her after trying so long to have children in the first place.

Regardless, I wouldn’t trade my quad mommy-hood for anything!

I’d love to have you come over and visit me in my neck of the internet woods! I’ve been writing about raising quadruplets since we found out that they were on the way. It’s a crazy, wild ride that we’d love to share with you!

And now for the giveaway! Enter below using Rafflecopter. A winner will be chosen July 8th and notified via E-mail.

What is your favorite store to shop at?
I love shopping online, because I feel like I can often find better deals and compare prices, but I love shopping at places like Forever 21, Old Navy, Kohl's, Target, etc. Clearly I'm no fashionista... I just like good deals and tend to have a more classic/simple style.

If you could afford anything and everything, which designer brand would you covet?
I have a thing for designer handbags. I love my Coach purses, and would probably buy one in every color if I had the cash... other then that, I don't really want or need designer brands.

Must have closet staple?
Camis and tank tops. I love the ones from F21 and Old Navy. They're cheap, last forever and come in a ton of different colors... pretty sure I have a tank and/or cami in every color imaginable. I wear them under pretty much every outfit I wear no matter the season. I just feel more comfortable with that extra layer.

Favorite kind of shoes? (brand or type)
Flip flops! Love them. I would wear them all day everyday if Maine didn't have that stupid winter season that lasts the majority of the year. Once it hits 50 degrees here, I'm rocking my flip flops until the temperature plummets again. I wear them with everything.

Best clothing deal you’ve ever gotten? (sale or amazing find)
{Source}
Forever 21's Essential Layering Tank. You can't go wrong with a tank for $1.80. Seriously. I love how these fit. They're comfy and nice and long. They come in a lot of colors too.

Style you’d love to try?
Bright colored skinny jeans. I feel like I would look silly and/or huge in them, so I shy away, but there's a part of me that would love to rock them.

Klepto tendancies

I sometimes have klepto tendencies... mostly when I drink, but when I'm stone cold sober I like to take things too... not real things, like stealing from stores or anything. I'm not a criminal. But, for example, at a wedding recently they had baskets in the bathrooms full of lotion, floss, breath mints, etc. Things the guests were expected to use... except there was a Tide to Go pen... and I wanted it. So I begged Drew to grab it for me. Being the good hubby that he is, he totally grabbed it. However, that wasn't enough... so I went in and took several other things. Why? I have no idea. I mean, yeah, it's fun getting stuff for free... but really? I just couldn't help myself.

Drew's Ring

Drew lost his wedding ring. It's been about a week and a half, and there's no sign of it. It's weird, because usually I'm the one who loses things, but he just can't find it. He can't remember exactly when he last wore it, which makes figuring out where he had left it even harder. We've looked everywhere, and nothing. I'm hoping that it's just behind something or under something and we'll find it when we least expect to... but that's starting to look less and less likely.

On being a SAHM

Ever since I went back to work after my maternity leave, I've thought about how much I wish I could be a stay at home mom. How much I wanted to be home with my baby. Watch her grow. Experience everything.

That hasn't changed.

What has changed, is my realization that I may not be cut out to be a SAHM. I love love love being home with Fynn. These past two days have made me realize just how much I miss spending all day with her. That said though, I don't know if I could do it long-term. I'm not creative enough, playful enough, I can't think of things to do to occupy and engage and entire day with her. I resort to several walks and excursions just to break up the day, but I know it's not as stimulating for her as it would be at daycare.

I love it though. I love our tickle sessions. Eating snacks together. Snuggling on the couch after naptime. I love seeing more of her little personality coming out more and seeing her figure out new things. I never realized just how funny she is. How can a kid who's not even a year old make me laugh so much?

And then I did the dishes- Cascade Platinum Sponsored Review

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Cascade. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

We've been having some issues lately with our dishwasher. As in I'll put the same cup through it three times and it will still have crud on it. Yes, I know, I could just wash that one gross cup by hand... but that would defeat the purpose of having a dishwasher. Am I right?

So I was excited when I was contacted by Mom Central to do a review of the Cascade Platinum Dishwasher Packs. I knew we needed to try something else to get our dishes washed, but I didn't want to buy a bunch of different things and have them not work.

The Cascade Platinum packs were really easy to use. No need to pour powder or measure anything. You just plop one pack into the soap dispenser thingy and start the machine. That alone sold me on them. The second part that sold me on them was when I totally overloaded the machine and all the dishes still came out clean. Not just some of it was clean, all of it. Even the nasty cups that had already been washed with my usual detergent and come out gross.

Cascade Platinum is also supposed to help keep your dishwasher clean and prevent hard water stain build ups. We don't have hard water, but I did notice that the dishwasher smelled better than it had previously.

Gail Simmons (judge on Top Chef) has partnered with Cascade to discuss why presentation is just as important as the preparation of your food. Gail recommends impressing with Platinum Presentation; “The easiest recipes pop with unexpected, gourmet presentations.  Drizzle bright sauces on sparkling white plates or layer desserts in crystal-clean glassware. Keep your presentation sparkling with Cascade Platinum, which keeps dishes perfect for anytime entertaining and impromptu guests.”

Now that you know about my experience with Cascade Platinum, here's your opportunity to get involved. Cascade is hosting a #MyPlatinum Instagram contest where you can win awesome prizes such as a years worth of Cascade or a Whirlpool Dishwasher. The contest runs for 4 weeks, and each week there is a theme. There are weekly winners and a grand prize winner who gets a KitchenAid Kitchen Makeover. To win you just have to register and upload a picture with the hashtag #MyPlatinum and tag @Cascade in it.

Sick Baby

Fynn's for real sick for the first time in her life. Poor kid has a double ear infection AND bronchialitis!

Shockingly, if you hang out with her, you would never know she was sick.

She had a funky cough for almost a week, but we thought it was from teething. Right before her first (and right now only) tooth came in, she had almost the same cough for about two weeks. She felt warm a couple of times, but each time we took her temperature it was normal. Then one day in the bath tub she started shaking her head and I just had this gut feeling. That night she was a mess all night long. Not sleeping, clearly feeling crummy, so Drew and I decided she needed to go to the doctors.

It was the last day of school, so I couldn't call out sick. I went in that morning, called the doctors and got her an appointment. When I called Drew with the appointment, he said that she seemed fine and we debated back and forth about whether she really needed to go to the doctors or if it was just teething as we had thought before. I wavered, and thought about it, but something in my gut just told me she was sick, so I stuck with that feeling.

I'm so glad I went with that feeling, I felt bad that she had both the ear infections and lung infection as it was, how much worse would I have felt if we had waited to go in?

She ended up on an antibiotic for the ear infections and a nebulizer treatment to help her coughing. Have you ever tried to get a baby to take both of those? Yeah, it's fun. We're currently on day 5 of 10 of the antibiotic. I think she's ended up with 1/2 to 3/4 of the meds actually being ingested. She is VERY stubborn and opinionated (no idea where she got those traits from!) The first night she literally sucked it down, but since then she fights it and spits it back at us. We've tried every trick we can think of or find on Google, and nothing works (seriously, everything). Then there's the neb treatment. She likes it for the first 30 seconds or so, and then she squirms and fights and cries. Ugh, it's exhausting and I feel so bad because she thinks we're torturing her because she can't understand that it's going to help her feel bad.

Despite being sick, she's still her usual happy self which makes dealing with it easier, but I'll be relieved when we're done with these meds!

June Ipsy Review

About a week an a half ago I got an e-mail saying my June Ipsy bag was on its way. I was psyched to get it, in the hopes that I would like it a lot better then Birchbox, which didn't really do it for me.

So I waited.

And Waited.

And Waited.

I saw on a bunch of blogs what other people got, and still no pretty pink envelope in my mailbox. FINALLY it showed up yesterday. I'm not sure why it took so long to get here, does anyone else get their Ipsy really late? Is it because I'm in Maine? I should look to see where it ships from.

First look: I love the pretty pink envelope

Second look: The leopard print bag isn't exactly my style, but it's cute and a good size for putting makeup in for travel. There's no real info card for Ipsy, they just tell you the brands that were featured in this month's bag. I would have preferred a card, just because I like knowing more about what I got, but it's not a big deal.

J. Cats Beauty Eyelashes and Eyelash Glue- $3.99

I'm not a big fake eyelash fan, mostly because I don't know how to wear them without them looking fake and I don't exactly have anyplace to wear them to... so I probably won't use these.

Starlooks Tickle Me Pink Lip Pencil-$12.00

This lip liner goes on smoothly and the color lasts awhile... not sure Tickle Me Pink is my color, but it is pretty.

NYX Mosaic Powder Blush- $7.00
I love how cute this powder is... in fact I didn't want to use it because that would mess up the design, but I wanted to check out the color. I'm quite pale, so blush often looks silly on my, but this one was perfect. It added a hint of color without being overpowering.

J. Cats Beauty Sparkling Cream Palette- $4.49

I thought this was eyeshadow at first, which I was okay with. I don't usually use sparkly eyeshadow, but it would be a fun change up... but then I saw that it's not supposed to be used on the eye area so I'm a little confused. Not sure what I would use "body sparkles" for since I'm not in middle school. The colors are pretty though.

Cailyn Cosmetics Line-Fix Gel Eyeliner with brush- $21

This was my favorite item in the bag. I've never played with gel eyeliner before, and was a little scared because my previous attempts at liquid eyeliner were a bust, but this was so easy to use and didn't smudge or make a mess. The brush is easy to use and you can use just a little for something subtle, or a lot for a smoky eye look. Love love love this!

Overall my bag was valued at $48.48 not including the bag itself OR any of the discounts you can get on purchasing items from the bag. Not a bad deal at all for a bag of full-sized beauty products that I paid just $10 for. While I didn't love all the items in my bag, I loved more than $10 worth, so I'm thinking this subscription bag is a keeper for me.

Summer Vacation

That's right people, I'm on vacation!

Friday was the last day with kids, yesterday was our last staff day. And I am DONE! The room is packed, files are done, and I'm out of there. I now have some of the summer off. I'm doing a couple of workshop and working a 4 week summer reading program, but otherwise I'm free to spend some quality time with my baby, work on my tan, and get some rest and relaxation (assuming Fynn naps well... which is probably a bad assumption to make).
Happy as a clam even though her ears
are bothering her and her
breathing sounds like Darth Vader

Of course, to make things a little less awesome, we found out Friday that Fynn has a double ear infection and bronchialitis. Excellent. She had a cough and runny nose for a couple of days, but we figured it was just allergies. Then she started shaking her head and pulling on her ear and I knew we were in trouble.  We ended up with some antibiotics and a nebulizer treatment which both needed to be done twice a day. She hates the nebulizer, well kind of. She laughs and thinks it's funny for the first 2 minutes and then she freaks out and squirms and cries. The antibiotic though? She seems to like. She literally sucks it right out of the syringe like it's candy. Weird kid.

Anyway, we're dealing with her sickies for the next couple of days. I have to work a training on Thursday for the summer program I'm working, but other then that we're free this week and Monday through Thursday next week (I have another training Friday). We have a LOT of things to do before Fynn's 1st birthday party in two weeks (I want to cry just typing that!).

Here's to summer vacation!

Those Weird Things

Sometimes being a parent means you do weird things. I'm seeing more and more of that as Fynn gets older. I can't tell you how many times I've sat in the back seat of the car nursing her in the middle of the parking lot, or done crazy-weird dances in the middle of stores in an attempt to keep her happy. I make face. Weird voices. Whatever it takes to keep her entertained.

The other night it was really hot. It was 94 degrees out (those of you in places like Texas and Florida are probably laughing, but that's crazy hot around here). Our house is annoying in that when it gets really hot out, our upstairs becomes a stuffy heat box. No matter what we do, it's nasty hot. It was way too hot to put Fynn to bed in her crib.

We decided to put her in our room for the night, in her Pack n Play, since we have AC in our room. Great idea... just one little problem. It was bedtime (actually a little past) and our room was boiling. It takes about an hour for the AC to really cool down our room, and we couldn't wait that long. Thus, we put the pack n play in the spare bedroom downstairs. It took a little longer then usual for her to fall asleep, but she did it.

When it was time for us to go to bed two hours later, we decided we wanted to move her upstairs, since I wasn't comfortable leaving her downstairs by herself all night. I picked up the sleeping baby while Drew wrestled the playpen upstairs. Luckily she went back down pretty easily, and slept pretty well (for her) that night. But this is just another one of those weird things we end up doing now that we have a kid. To be honest, it doesn't even seem that weird to me to do whatever it takes to get her to sleep at night, but it's something I probably would have made fun of people for doing before i had kids and figured out that you just do whatever it takes.

1. What is your biggest driving pet peeve?
When people stop completely before turning. Drives me batty. That or when they slow way, way down like a mile before they turn. Or when they drive reeeeeeeeeeally slowly. Or don't use directionals. Or when they leave their directionals on long after they've turned. Clearly I have a lot of driving pet peeves.

2. Biggest Blogging pet peeve?
When people comment or send you a message saying "love your blog, come check out mine at (insert URL here). Yup, clearly your comment was not sincere, you're just trolling for more followers. On principle I never check out their blog when they do that.

3. Biggest general pet peeve?
When people make everything into a competition. I see this a ton now that I have Fynn. Everyone wants to compare what she can do compared to their kid, or brag about how smart their kid is. I get it, they're clearly jealous of how awesome my kid is. But seriously, I hate when you're having a conversation with someone and they feel the need to one-up everything you say.

4. What is your most irrational fear?

Being murdered in my sleep. I don't exactly live in a high crime area (hello, it's Maine) but for some reason I'm convinced that something will happen. I'm not as paranoid as I used to be... but I'm still scared.

5. 3 celebrities you’d want to have dinner with?

No real reason for these three choices :)

Daddy's Girl

Fynn is SUCH a Daddy's girl. A little part of me is jealous, but mostly I just love seeing them together. I love the way her little face lights up when he walks in the room. I love their little jokes, or they way they play together. It just melts me. Drew wasn't 100% sure about having kids, so it's a relief to me to see how in love he is with his daughter.

Not my kid

This weekend we went to McDonald's for lunch. We gave Fynn the choice of a tomato or a chicken nugget.

She chose the tomato

Clearly she's not my kid.

She redeemed herself by eating a fry. That's more like it!

Thursday Thoughts

Thursday Thoughts

  • Tomorrow is the last day of school, and I can't decide if I'm excited-hello, summer somewhat off (I'm actually working 4 of the 8 weeks of vacation) or sad- I love this group of 5th graders and really hate to seem them go. Eh, let's be honest, even though I love these guys, I'm ready for a break.
  • No what drives me nuts. When some one tweets me or comments on the blog telling me they love my blog and then asking for a follow back or for met to check out their blog. Um... not so much. Trolling for followers like that just makes me not want to check out your blog on principle. Especially if your comment is all "Hey, love your blog! Come check out mine at..." Yeah, if you're going to attempt to get me to visit you... at least pretend you read my blog. Or even looked at it for a milli-second.
  • The other day Drew had Fynn, I think I was downstairs or something and he was up... or it was the other way around. I don't really remember. What I do remember is him all of a sudden freaking out and saying he needed help. After sprinting in to him, what did I discover? Fynn had spit up. Not on him. Not projectile vomit. Just a little spit up on herself. Really? He needed my help for that?
  • Drew has made comments lately about my "easy" weight loss and how lucky I am to be able to eat whatever I want. Honestly, it bugs me. I mentioned this the other day, but I'll say it again. Yes, I weigh what I weighed before I got pregnant... but my body is no where near what it was. I know I haven't been great about my diet/exercise, but it's not like I'm doing nothing. Hello, I'm still feeding another human being here!
  • Last Tuesday I had a professional day at school. I was in the building working on some stuff, but I wasn't in my classroom. At the end of the day, I went back to my room and discovered this:

Um... WTH? Honestly, I didn't even ask. For some reason this was on my bookshelf. The next day when I thought to look again, it was gone. I'm chalking this one up to "kids are weird" and leaving it at that.
