Adios Malibu!

For the past three years I've driven my beautiful Chevy Malibu. That car is amazing. Pretty, smooth- riding, and equipped with a sweet moon roof that made blowdrying my hair on the way to work a blast (I'm so not even kidding. I can't tell you the number of time I opened the moon roof with wet hair in an attempt to dry it before getting to work).

Alas, all good things must come to an end. As much as I love my Malibu, it was no longer meeting our needs. With Fynn's carseat in the back, the front passenger was basically sitting on the dashboard. And while the trunk was surprisingly spacious, it was still small enough that we had to take the wheels off our stroller in order to get it actually fit in there. Let me tell you. Wrestling the wheels onto the stroller in the mall parking lot while Fynn screams in her car seat? Not fun.

A few months ago Drew and I started talking about getting me a new car. We wanted something bigger, but not something huge. I drove a minivan in high school, so there was no way in hell I was going with another one. I may be a mom... but I don't need to go that far. I didn't want a huge SUV, so we started looking at crossovers.

Seriously we looked at a TON of cars. We looked at the Terrain, Equinox, Cr-V, Sonata, and a whole lot more. We scoured the internet, visited dealers, read reviews, test drove some sweet rides, compared deals. It seemed like we would get close to deciding on something, and then a wrench would be thrown into the plans and we would have to start again.

Last Wednesday night Drew called me after work and asked if I wanted to go check out an Equinox at the Chevy dealership we bought my Malibu at. Somehow we ended up finding a deal we liked... and bought one that night. It was kind of crazy and spur of the moment. We got home that night and it just didn't feel real. I couldn't believe after all that research and time... we had actually just bought an new car.

It certainly sunk in the next day, when I picked up my new baby. While I miss my moon roof, and I REALLY wanted a red car, this bad boy is sweet. Awesome features, smooth ride and SPACE. There is room for the car seat in the back AND an adult in the front seat. There's room for the stroller in the trunk. I love how much bigger it is, but it still drives just like my Malibu did. I was immediately comfortable in the car.

I am looking to get a new car too. I plan on getting it before Christmas. I have an 01 Honda Civic coupe and when it came to moving out my stuff from my dorm, I wish I had a bigger car, or a 4 door. Next time I am either going t get a crv or a 4dr civic or accord.
Ahh buying a new car is so exciting! lol
