The First Time

Thursday morning I woke up to hear Fynn stirring in her room. She wasn't fussing yet, but it was clear she was waking up. Rolling over I looked at the clock, expecting it to be around 4 am since Fynn usually gets up around 3 or 4 for a feeding before she goes back to sleep for another two or three hours. As I looked at the clock though, I realized it was 5:45. Five. Forty. Five. Holy crap! I got crazy excited. Did she really sleep through the night? How the heck did that happen? Woah, I feel REALLY good right now. I quickly slapped Drew awake to make sure he hadn't gotten up with her during the night and gotten her back to sleep (right, like that's ever happened!). Obviously he hadn't. She had actually slept through the night, from 8 pm until almost 6 am. Crazy. Amazing. Awesome. I felt so good and well rested all day Thursday.

Then Thursday night she was up from 3-4:30, fighting going back to sleep.

::Sigh::

Oh well, maybe she'll decide to do it again sometime soon. A Mama can hope!

  1. The day will come. I remember when my daughter slept through the night and I freaked out enough to call my mom. It was 8 AM, and I was so panicked that she was still asleep.

  3. Isn't it amazing how much better you feel after a full night of sleep?!! So happy you got that and I hope she keeps it up! My dear 15 month old decided to finally start sleeping through the night, the week before she turned 15 months. It took forever to happen but I couldn't be more grateful now!!
