18 Weeks Pregnant with Boo #2

Yay, I'm finally caught up with my pregnancy posts. Today's post is actually posted when I'm 18 weeks! Oh, and how crazy does that sound; 18 weeks. I'm 2 weeks away from the halfway point. Being so crazy busy all the time is making this pregnancy fly by.

  • This week baby Boo is the size of a sweet potato: 5.6 inches long, 6.7 ounces (ish)
  • Wednesday was my 16 week check up (for some reason all my appointments are scheduled late which is weird, but whatever). I've gained about 6 pounds so far, but my doctor isn't worrying yet. Since my horrific morning sickness just ended recently, she knows that I haven't been gaining the way I should for the rest of the pregnancy. The baby is exactly the size he/she should be and everything looks "perfect" according to her. At this point last time I had gained 9 pounds and they were worried then that it wasn't enough. I'm just focusing on eating somewhat well (Oreos are good for you, right?) and not worrying about the scale
  • Speaking of he/she, I always refer to the baby as a "he". No idea why, just the way it slips out. We've jokingly nicknamed the baby Teddy, which would never actually be the name, but I have to be careful or people really will think I'm having a boy named Teddy!
  • At my appointment Wednesday I recorded the heartbeat on the Doppler. I played it for Fynn when I got home and she was sooo excited. She said "that's cool" and asked for it about 15 more times that night and a couple of times since then. It's so sweet to see the way she's processing everything that's happening and how much she actually understands.
  • Tuesday night I think I felt the baby move for the first time! It felt like two distinct kicks and since then I've felt it 3-4 times that I'm sure of. There are all kinds of other times where I *think* I feel baby, but I'm not sure if it's just stomach gurgling or whatever.
