8 Weeks Pregnant w/ Boo # 2

Written 7/20/14- 8 weeks pregnant

This was a busy pregnancy week full of ups and downs.

  • We had our first prenatal visit which was both awesome and frustrating. Awesome because we got to see little Boo for the first time. He/she is an adorable blob of indistinguishable baby. We got to watch the little heart beat and ooh and aww over our little creation. The frustrating part was that my ultrasound was scheduled for 12. It was about 10 minutes long and then we waited for the appointment. And waited. And waited. After 25 minutes I asked and found out that some idiot scheduled my appointment for 1 pm. Yeah, a full hour after my ultrasound. Drew had to go back to work, he couldn't take that long of a lunch break! Not going to lie, I cried a little. This was supposed to be an exciting awesome day for us and it got ruined by someones carelessness. The rest of the appointment was fine, but then I had to get blood work done. Yuck. She had a hard time finding a good vein because I was a little dehydrated (2 hours at the doctor's office will do that).
  • I was getting ready for bed the other night when Drew stopped me with a "holy crap I think you have a bump". I thought he was joking and/or I was just looking a little chubby, but there's a teeny tiny bump that can't be sucked in and oh-my-goodness how are we going to keep this thing under wraps for another 4 weeks?
  • We bought Fynn the cutest shirt that says "Keep Calm I'm Going to be a Big Sister". We're doing family pictures with the uber-talented Erin next weekend, so we're going to use those to announce Boo #2
  • I've felt really good some days and like hell others. Lots of stomachaches, now feeling a LOT more morning sickness. Worse is that last time it was mostly nausea that I could breathe through and move on with my day. This time it's sudden and uncontrollable need to be sick.
  • Aversions to meat and my (formerly) beloved Diet Pepsi. I can't for the life of me get comfortable at night, so sleep has been rough. Once I finally get comfortable and fall asleep, I have to get up to pee. I'm thinking The Nest may be making its return in the near future.
  • Little Boo is the size of a raspberry this week, about .63 inches in length.
